Resolutions for A New Year

We all have a bunch of resolutions we try to actually do throughout the course of the new year, but rarely do we tend to keep them past a couple weeks. I am not saying I actually keep mine the whole year, but I tried my best last year and will try even harder this year, 2009. I don't really feel like breaking down my resolutions and I don't have a specific order of priorities. But here they are:

1. Stay More Committed: I have always had commitment issues and have blamed everyone else but myself on the reason I broke that promise. I plan on fixing this by seeing things through more people's eyes rather than just my own. I have realized that if I had been more committed to things, whether it's relationships or sports, I would have truly done wonders in that activity (excuse the sexual innuendo if anyone picked it up.)

2. Stop Promising Things I Can't Fully Fulfill: Kind of like the commitment thing but more broken down I guess. I usedta always give false promises and break them, usually cause of my own mistakes, and again, I'd blame it on others. This year, I won't be giving any promises I can't hold. If you ask me "you promise?" don't expect an absolute answer from me please.

3. Treat My Parents The Way They Deserve to Be Treated In the last few months I have fully realized how heroic my parents are. I don't mean to sounds cliched or anything, but I really believe I have the best parents in the world. They're strict but utterly fair. They do everything they can to keep me and my sister (as well as everyone else) happy. They don't even EXPECT anything back except for my sister and I to try our best in life and to become as successful or even more successful than my parents. I consider both my mom and dad as my main idols in life and I plan to follow in their mental and emotional footsteps to lead a better life. They treat me like a king, and I never have fully returned the favor and I probably won't ever be able to, but I'll try to let them know how much I love and appreciate them.

4. Open Up My Mind More:Everyone likes different things and have different personalities and though I accept all that better than before, but I still need to work on judging people before actually meeting them.

5.Live For Today:This'll make my life a lot more stress free if I just live my life as if it's just TODAY. I don't want to look over my shoulder and remember regrets or stress over pessimistic thoughts of the future. "Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift."-Eleanor Roosevelt.

6. Continue on Opening Other People's Minds:Sorry if this makes me sound conceited, but I love helping people through tough situations not through saying what they want to hear, but what they NEED to hear. This way, they realize that the problem probably affects more people than just them or that it's not as big a deal as they think it is.

7.Do Better In Math/School In General:Another cliched one, I know. But it's true, I'm fucking up in school and I need to pick it up and start dooinnn!

8.Diversify My Love of People/Arts:Another branch to my OPENING MY MIND thing. I can't just judge people and songs/books/etc by their looks or genre or such. I need to learn more of them and accept them for who/what they are.

9.Keep Up My Guitar Learning: I plan on learning how to better tab out songs on my own rather than turn to my mentor or tabbing websites. I especially need to work on tapping the strings and pull off/hammer on's to better diversify my playing.

10.Have her,enough said. :]

These are my 10 main resolutions for the year of 2009. Comment me telling me what you think and of YOUR resolutions.
Oh shiet, I forgot my last one: Keep my head up high and my life fucking stress free! Add that shiet to your resolutions too! :]

seems like number 10 is gonna be really challenging for you.

Seriously-- Nice blog, detailed, kind of generic, but it's something everyone wants to fix, no? Hope you fulfill your resolutions!
