I Miss You

Another poem I wrote in 7th or 8th grade for a similar project, it's about my grandfather who passed away. (By the way, this was when I was still religious so if you feel a sense of God, now you know why.)

Pats on the back, learn to talk back
Fight the power, smile and attack
My grandfather taught to me
I miss you please, please come back
Every night I sleep and I see
Him sitting, looking back at me
My idol, now and forever
I miss him, oh God don’t you see?
Now we all gather together
Mourn for him as their souls tether
My eyes are red, depressed, and wet
I miss you, but you’re gone forever
I cry at the nights and regret
I look for a way to reset
I didn’t pay my dues, in debt
Please bring him back, to walk, to step

Atleast you knew your grandpa. There are many kids out there who don't even know what it feels like to have one. I'm sure you're thankful though and remember that this experience will only make you stronger and learn to appreciate the people you love more. You're a great person and I'm sure He loved you very much. I'm sorry.
