The First of September

That's today, which mean's it's the first day of Ramadan! Ramadan is a Muslim holiday where some genius said HEY let's not eat the whole day but when everybody's sleeping, we'll eat, alright? Now lets go!
Yeah, this holiday = fail. Why the fuck would you do that. I understand that they wanna feel the same way as the poor/hungry and, like, cleanse their greediness, but let's be honest, that isn't gonna work. Seriously though, is it just a poor excuse to go on a diet cause you're a fat ass? Is that it, because there is no other good reason for this "holiday." (Which, by the way, goes on for a whole month)
You know what else is lame? if you don't do this every year starting from the age of 13-15, you aren't even considered a Muslim anymore. Actually, there's a lotta shit you gotta do to be considered "Muslim." No kids, bombing people isn't one of the necessary requirements so go choke on a Korean guys dick.
Anyways, yeah what the fuck. Why the hell is it so necessary to haveta pay $5000+ to go to Saudi Arabia, one of the WORST countries in the world, and then pay even more money to go and pray outside of this little black box room thing, JUST to be considered Muslim. What if my ass can't afford this shit? What if I don't have the time? What if I just don't feel like paying over 5k to get stabbed in a faraway country. Yeah those are all good reasons not to go, but yet if you don't go, you're not Muslim anymore. But then these crazy radical Muslim kids decided to kill THEMSELVES and tons of other people and then they think of themselves as Muslim. What the fuck! You're dead you dumb shit, even if doing that DID make you a real Muslim, you can't do anything about it now with your body scattered across the ruins of a building. There's a bunch of other random ass entry methods to Islam, the next one just as weird as the first. Seriously though, I'm an ex-Muslim and I didn't do any of the things (considering I was 12- when i was Muslim and at that young age you don't really have to do much.) But after that age, you DO! The most annoying thing? Having to pray 5 times a day! And the praying method is so confusing! It's excercise and good for the spirit no doubt but still! Hmm, I think most of these Muslim practices revolve around excercise so they can have more excuses to lose weight, yahnoe?
After doing these, there' still a LIST more of shit to do. I'm glad I stopped before I hadta do all this, it's a lot less effort and I feel good about myself. Being a Muslim is just a waste of time and money if you're really going to follow ALL of these rules. I respect what they do and how spiritual they are, but come on. Let's loosen it up a little so more people are encouraged to actually follow the religion, please. Oh and stop depending on religion so much so you can actually progress like the rest of the world did *cough cough* Every single Muslim country* (Cept Turkey, which DID progress thanks to Europe FUCK YES!) So remember kids, you don't haveta be religious to be a good person. Just respect yourself and others, don't stress, and most importantly, hold your head up. =]

*tl;dr*

I just read the first few sentences. Ramadan is just a symbolization to say how commited you are to the religion, Muslim. Lent exists for more than a to just "give up" something for 40 days for Catholics.

Also, I saw online there was like a meeting place for like pro-anorexia, and they were all excited for Ramadan. Fucking disgusting.

This is a really great thought, except being an American-Muslim is different. It's not a different religion but living in America and being that perfect Muslim you think everyone has to be is actually impossible. We all live in a society where things like praying 5 times a day is not the most important thing. And visiting that "little black box" doesn't have to happen. The best time to go is when you're old...like white hair old. This religion is actually not much of a hassle. Whoever made it seem like all this to you musn't understand that we are a new generation. Other than adults, in our generation, I can't think of a single Muslim who goes through all that hassle and stress to be the perfect Muslim. Nobody says that if you don't fast you're not Muslim anymore. Besides, you shouldn't care about how people label you as a Muslim or not. Who cares if they think you're not Muslim anymore just because you're not fasting. As long as you know it in your heart, that's all that matters. I don't want to change your religion or convert you or anything. That is far from my point. I actually really enjoy discussing this topic.
