Immortality=Not Cool

So some kids tell me that they want to "live-forever" expecting me to grant their wishes or something. I just smile and nod, Yahnoe I'm too lazy to explain what I really feel. But now I'll explain:
What's the point in being immortal? "Oh It's to live forever." Yeah I know that, now shut the fuck up and lemme finish. If people lived forever, common sense-wise, the world would needta fucking GROW! But besides that, the individual itself would need to grow a lot more than usual too, and not just physically. Common human instincts are that a person reaches for a goal harder when they have a shorter amount of time to do it. For example; I had two book reports due this summer, and I didn't do any of them. Why? Cause I had a long amount of time and I didn't realize that soon I would have no time left. Now with 3 days of summer left, I realize how I fucked myself. It's the same for everyone in one way or another. The less time one gets to finish something, the more they panic about it and totally stress over it, the more they keep trying. If a person has FOREVER to accomplish something, they'll never get to it. They'll keep saying "five more minutes mommy" and that five minutes will never be up. It'll just be the same excuse. I'm not saying every single human being does this, but by far for what I've seen, I think this theory is true.
So what I'm trying to say is, immortality would NOT be a good thing for this world or ANYONE. The only good thing about it is that people would not haveta bear with the tension of death. But let's be honest, you "friends" would start hating each other after a couple centuries or so anyways and then that whole immortality thing wouldn't matter anymore. I'm also wondering about how one would commit suicide in this stage of life. If you cut your head off, would you still be alive or what? Wouldn't that be hella awkward though? It would hurt hella bad and then nothing would happen. Or like when you shoot yourself in the head or something. So this is another CON for why immortality is a stupid idea.
I think this "living till you die" idea's the best for our lives right now. We would reach for goals faster and accomplish more things, we'd keep our friends for just the right amount of time, and we'd just stay being our normal selves. Honestly if I found out I was immortal, I'd go kill the guy that invented that idea. So go out there and live your REAL lives to the fullest! =]

This I agree with. Especially when it comes to managing time and shit. The more you have time, the more you laze and procrastinate.
